Savannah East News
This week, RCSE presented a check to LIFE for $1000 which was made possible through money raised from Happy Dollars and 50/50 Raffle!  President Kim Campbell announced the two awards that RCSE received at the District Conference - Distinguished Service Award and the Award of Excellence!  Once all announcements were made, Cheri Dean introduced our speaker for the day, Alderwoman Carol Bell.
It was a packed day at The Pirates House on Friday.  We welcomed George C. Washington and J. Brian Jackson as our newest members to RCSE! George is the Assistant Chief of Police for SCCPSS and Brian is the Market President for Regions Bank. Both Frank Pennington and Thomas Barrow passed all Red Badge requirements to receive their Blue name badges! We had a flag exchange with GRSP student Ximena Delgado who is from Paraguay and was sponsored by the Savannah Rotary Club.  We also drew for a new charity to receive funds from Happy and Raffle and Park Place was the winner.  Finally, we heard from our GRSP Student, Julio, as he looked fondly back on his year in the United States.  RCSE wishes him the best of luck in all future endeavors and hopes we will come back to visit anytime!

It was nice to be back at The Pirates House this week after a few weeks off!  Kim Campbell reminded those in attendance about the upcoming April Service Project and Social Event.  Laura Lane spoke about forming a small group of members who would be interested in helping GROW Initiative GA plan a fundraising event which will take place in October.  GROW focuses on the immigrant community by providing education, health, nutrition and community engagement initiatives.  Once all business was discussed and Happy dollars collected, we had three Member Minutes from some of our Red Badge members!
