Today’s meeting was all about making a difference in our community and around the world!

In honor of World Polio Day (officially 10.24.26), RCSE participated in the Purple Pinkie Project, a Rotary initiative raising awareness and funds to support global polio eradication.
When children are vaccinated against polio, health workers mark their pinkies with purple dye. Today, our members and guests joined the effort by having their own pinkies painted purple to show their support! Every contribution supports The Rotary Foundation’s End Polio Now campaign and brings us one step closer to a polio-free world.  Thank you to the members of RCSE who participated in this project!

We also welcomed Rick Roney and George Woods, who shared the vision behind Chatham Literary Moonshot, a community-wide effort to ensure 95% of Chatham County third graders are reading on grade level within five years. Their presentation highlighted where we are today & the steps needed to reach this goal.  To learn more about this program, please visit https://www.chathamea.org/chatham-moonshot-initiative
