What a fantastic Rotary meeting for our new President, Conni Reynolds! Before we heard from our very own Gordon Matthews, Conni reminded everyone of the July 17th meeting at the Junior Achievement Discovery Center and of the ongoing July service project of collecting school supplies for Haven Elementary. Once all Rotary business items were discussed, Gordon began his interactive presentation on Nine Gifts.
Gordon started by explaining the handout that was on the table. He talked about the characteristics of all the animals that were listed on top. He gave examples of people who would fit into each category and examples of how to interact with them or how someone with these traits would interact with others. His tool is useful for career planning as well as. Some people can be multiple numbers, i.e. a certain way at work and another way at home. The objective is to try and match this with someone you know. It was a great reminder that success in business, Rotary and life comes from appreciating and leveraging the gifts that each person brings to the table.
