This past Friday, President Andrew Cosey started the meeting by thanking everyone who was able to attend the September Social at Wyld Dock Bar.  He said it was great to see so many members in attendance!  He announced that the sign up is open for the Isaiah Davenport House tour and lunch on Friday, October 20th.  If you would like to attend, please email Kerri at rotarysavannaheast@gmail.com.  The field trip is limited to 30 people so we need members to RSVP if they want to attend.  Once all Rotary business items were discussed, Katie Gingrich introduced the ladies from Renegade Paws Rescue.

Renegade Paws Rescue started in 2019 as a way for the community to get involved in animal rescue.  It began as a volunteer based organization.  Due to the continual growth over the past four years, they now have a paid staff.  Just last year, they took in 1000 animals!  All the dogs are either spayed or neutered.  They are constantly looking for foster families for the dogs until they can find them a permanent home.  As a foster family, you are not expected to pay for any of the living expenses associated with having a pet.  Renegade Rescue funds all the things one would need to care for the pet such as food, toys, medicines, and veterinary bills.  They rely on adoption fees, donations and grants to run their program.

Recently, Renegade Paws Rescue purchased a building.  The building has been wonderful for animal intake.  They are always in need of volunteers to help clean the building, clean the kennels, take the dogs for a walk, or to be a boarding buddy!  Although most of their animals are dogs, they do provide a small amount of kitten care.  Their biggest fundraiser, Wag-O-Ween, will be held on October 21st and October 22nd.  This is the largest animal event in Savannah.  To learn more about Renegade Paws Rescue, please visit https://www.renegadepawsrescue.org/
