November Service Project - Holiday Cards for Senior Citizens
For the month of November, our Service Committee has purchased several hundred cards and we'll be partnering with the Meals on Wheels program of Senior Citizens, Inc. (SCI) to distribute the cards to homebound and isolated seniors during the holiday season. You can pick up a packet of blank cards at the regular Rotary meetings this month. We hope that each RCSE member will make an effort to participate in this service project and help to lift the spirits of a homebound or isolated senior in our community! It's an easy way to put a smile on someone's face and to live the Rotary motto of "service above self."
Books for Haven Elementary
Once again, Rotary Club of Savannah East is collecting books for Haven Elementary! The books will be used as Speaker Gifts and will then be donated in honor of the speaker to the Haven Media Center. The librarian at Haven has put together an Amazon wish list of books. When you click to purchase a book, please make sure the shipping address is to YOU. Once you receive the book, you will then bring it to a meeting and give it to Kerri. Thank you for your support of the Haven Media Center!
We will not be meeting on Friday, November 8, due to Veterans Day Weekend. RCSE would like to thank our members who have served our country. We are grateful for your sacrifice and we honor you on this day. We also want to take a moment to thank all the men and women who have served in our armed forces and protected our nation throughout our history.
