We will be meeting at The Pirates House this Friday in our normal meeting room - Captain Flints Hall. Please enter using the FRONT ENTRANCE!
Our speaker for this week is GRSP Student Julio Morales. Join us as he gives a "Year in Review" presentation! Julio will talk about what he has learned and experienced during his time in Savannah and with the Georgia Rotary Student Program.
It is time to select a new charity to receive money raised from Happy and Raffle. We will be taking submissions for local non-profits at the meeting and will draw for a new winner!
RCSE looks forward to seeing all members and guests on Friday!
Mary's place lip sync fundraiser
RCSE has a team in the Mary's Place annual Lip Sync fundraiser! You can purchase tickets for the gala on April 24 through this link: https://marysplacega.org/gala/. The team is also fundraising for Mary's Place as part of the competition! You can donate online at https://givebutter.com/mpteamfundraising/team-rotary-club-of-savannah-east. The team needs to raise about $1000 to reach our goal to wear our costumes to this week's meeting!
It was nice to be back at The Pirates House this week after a few weeks off! Kim Campbell reminded those in attendance about the upcoming April Service Project and Social Event. Laura Lane spoke about forming a small group of members who would be interested in helping GROW Initiative GA plan a fundraising event which will take place in October. GROW focuses on the immigrant community by providing education, health, nutrition and community engagement initiatives. Once all business was discussed and Happy dollars collected, we had three Member Minutes from some of our Red Badge members!
Laura Limp began by sharing her love of gardening, music festivals, Indiana University and the most important, the loves of her life which are her daughter and her dog. Dorris Williams talked about how her childhood shaped who she is today and the importance of taking care of yourself so you can help others. Finally, Blake Bethea spoke on his career progression from working on a farm to being a member of Chatham Capital Group and his love for his wife and baby girl. Thank you to all three members for sharing about their lives!
