NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
RCSE Membership Survey
The Board wants your feedback on the state of the club! We are seeking 100% member participation in taking this 10 minute survey during the month of May. We're interested in your thoughts on service projects, programs, socials, and the general state of the club. Hard copies and a QR code to take the survey on your phone will also be available at all June meetings. Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey!

May 9, 2025 - Meeting Recap
On Friday, we had two "Red Badge" Member Minutes where Ruth Albright and Bryce Everrett shared personal insights, interests, and a few fun surprises about their lives outside of Rotary.  President Mark Sprosty reminded everyone about the RCSE Membership Survey and the May Social on Wednesday, May 21.  Once all Rotary business items were discussed, Melanie Farrant introduced our speaker for the day, Cecilia Arango, who talked about her journey running marathons.

Cecilia began by giving a background on herself.  She said she has a goal of completing a marathon in all 50 states by the time she reaches the age of 50.  Although she didn't tell us her current age, she did say that she just completed marathon #34.  Her running journey began in 2011 with the Rock N Roll marathon in Savannah.  She enjoyed running the marathon so much that she joined a running club and started researching the history of marathons in Savannah.

Running is more than a solo activity.  At first it can be torturous but after awhile, it can start feeling good.  For Cecilia, when she runs, she is less stressed and also finds she does her best thinking while running.  Running has taught her that you can go through hard things and come out on the other side!
