December 12, 2025 - Meeting Recap
For the last meeting in 2025, we had our very own Cale Hall present to RCSE about Square One.  Before Cale began his talk, President Kim Campbell reminded everyone of Read United on Friday, January 30th and also presented Jennifer Graham with a check for $1000 for Shelter From the Rain.  The money donated to this organization was raised through Happy and Raffle.  Once all Rotary business items were discussed, Cheri Dean introduced Cale.

Cale started Square One in April 2025 as a way for parishioners in his church to practice discipleship to the men and women who live in the squares in downtown.  The goal is to decrease stress, increase trust, and hopefully provide resources to help those people who are homeless.  A typical encounter is 90-180 seconds.  If the person is wanting to receive assistance, Cale will connect them to organizations that provide aid.

A few outcomes of the ministry is that parishioners grow because they serve, discipleship become embodied, and the community heals.  Currently, Cale and volunteers walk to 13 squares four days a week.  He showed us a photos of the cart he takes with water and snacks and some from Thanksgiving where they boxed and delivered over 100 meals.  The cost per meal was $3.60.  Cale said that one measure of success is that people feel seen and not just managed.  If you would like to learn more about Square One and how you can help, please contact Cale at cale@trinity1848.org
