We will be meeting at The Pirates House this Friday in our normal meeting room - Captain Flints Hall. You must enter through the FRONT ENTRANCE as the side door is no longer open.
Our speaker this week is Steve Curran, a retired Navy Chief, former pastor, and CEO at Khaki Consulting. Steve will introduce the Peace Index—a simple but transformative tool that helps you measure what’s fueling (or draining) your personal peace. If you've ever felt “off” without knowing why, this tool will help you pinpoint the cause and take action. Walk away with a clearer head, a stronger sense of purpose, and a fresh perspective on leadership, fulfillment, and navigating chaos. You’ll calculate your own Peace Index live during the talk. Don't miss this unique blend of storytelling, humor, and actionable insight from a leader who’s been in the trenches.
RCSE looks forward to seeing all members and guests on Friday!
Welcome to the World Packages!
Last October, the RCSE service project was putting together "Welcome to the World" packages for mothers and newborns. These care packages were distributed locally in Savannah and abroad with the help of member Dr. Miriam Rittmeyer and Phalarope. All the packages have been delivered and Miriam shared these photos!

Food Drive for 2nd Harvest!
During the month of October, we will be collecting food to donate to 2nd Harvest of Coastal Georgia. The most needed items are found in the flyer above. We will start collecting items at our October 3rd meeting. Thank you in advance for your support!
The RCSE Board is excited to share that we're seeing our highest regular meeting attendance since 2020! We are thrilled to see so many of you each week at the Pirate's House; it's a great sign our club is thriving. Because the number of meals we are purchasing has increased, we need to revive our guest meal policy, which we have not observed since before 2020.
The RCSE Guest Meal policy is: members pay $10 for each guest they bring, which covers approximately half the cost of each meal. Each member can choose whether they will bring payment in the form of cash or a check to the meeting or be billed for the total number of guest meals at the end of each quarter with their regular dues.
We will start formally observing this policy with the start of the quarter in October. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Kim or any other member of the RCSE Board.
It was a wonderful day at RCSE as we had another new member initiation - welcome to the club Scott! President Kim Campbell reminded members of the September Social at Forsyth Park for the Savannah Jazz Festival. Once all Rotary business items were discussed and Happy dollars collected, Cheri Dean introduced our speaker for the day, Dr. Kathryn Sophia Belle, who is the founder and owner of La Belle Vie Academy (LBVA).
Dr. Belle began by saying she was first introduced to the idea of a beloved community by Martin Luther King Jr. Her definition of a beloved community is one were there is love, mutual respect, affirmation, and alignment. She was motivated to start her own community while getting her PhD in philosophy when she realized there wasn't much support for black women in academia and philosophy due to a low number of women wanting to pursue this avenue of study. After many years as a college professor, Dr. Belle decided to branch out on her own and founded La Belle Vie Academy in order to help people focus on their work/life balance. She realized she didn't have to be in academia to do what she loves which is building beloved communities. She then talked about people who inspired her as well as how her upbringing modeled what it means to be in a community.
