We will be meeting at The Pirates House this Friday in our normal meeting room - Captain Flints Hall. Please enter using the FRONT ENTRANCE!
Our speaker for this week is Dr. Shonna McGhee who is a Physician at Coastal Care Partners. She will talk to us about the concierge medicine model which is a membership-based approach to primary care that focuses on more personalized, accessible, and proactive service compared to traditional practices.
RCSE looks forward to seeing all members and guests on Friday!
May service project - book drive for GROW
Our May service project is a simple, meaningful way to make a real impact and it’s perfectly aligned with Rotary’s commitment to literacy.
The entire month of May, we’re partnering with GROW Initiative GA, a local non-profit that supports vulnerable communities through education, health, and community engagement. Their summer literacy program is scheduled just around the corner in July, and we have an opportunity to help set these children up for success.
We’re organizing a bilingual book drive and participating is easy:
Visit the GROW Initiative GA Amazon wishlist (link is below)
Purchase one (or more!!) of the requested bilingual books or other educational items
Ship the items to yourself & then bring them into a May meeting (5/8, 5/15, or 5/29)
It was a packed day at The Pirates House on Friday. We welcomed George C. Washington and J. Brian Jackson as our newest members to RCSE! George is the Assistant Chief of Police for SCCPSS and Brian is the Market President for Regions Bank. Both Frank Pennington and Thomas Barrow passed all Red Badge requirements to receive their Blue name badges! We had a flag exchange with GRSP student Ximena Delgado who is from Paraguay and was sponsored by the Savannah Rotary Club. We also drew for a new charity to receive funds from Happy and Raffle and Park Place was the winner. Finally, we heard from our GRSP Student, Julio, as he looked fondly back on his year in the United States. RCSE wishes him the best of luck in all future endeavors and hopes we will come back to visit anytime!
