On Monday, April 14th, The Rotary Club of Savannah (Downtown Club) will be holding a Combined Rotary Club Meeting at Hunter Army Airfield, coordinated by "Captain" Lux Lakshman.

This is a unique opportunity to learn more about the military in our area, and a chance to connect with fellow Rotarians from Chatham, Effingham, and Bryan Counties where we have over 500 members making a positive impact in our communities. In addition to the meeting, there will be a tour and opportunity to interact with our service members, traditionally called a “meet-your-Army” event.

12:40 - 13:30   Meeting - Speaker
13:30 - 15:30   Tour of the Hunter AAF including the USCG Air Station

NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
March 7, 2025 - Meeting Recap
This past Friday, RCSE welcomed a visiting Rotarian from Wisconsin and had two new member initiations!  Welcome to the club Melanie and Michael!  President Mark Sprosty reminded members of the March service project at Coastal Pet Rescue and the March social at Kayak Kafe Midtown.  Once all Rotary business items were discussed, Cheri Dean introduced our speaker, Wanda Lloyd, who presented about her journey to writing her memoir, Coming Full Circle: From Jim Crow to Journalism

Wanda began her presentation by reading a passage out of her book.  She said her book has four themes: history, journalism, leadership challenges and lessons, and a passion for local leaders reflecting the makeup of the community.  Wanda then gave tips for planning and sharing your story which included being disciplined, focusing on your theme, and having an outline.  Her message throughout her presentation was that everyone has a story and you should share yours with others.  It does not have to be in written form.  You can tell your story through audio and video recordings as well as photography!  She concluded her talk by asking everyone to think about their story and how they want to tell it.
