We will be meeting at The Pirates House this Friday in our normal meeting room - Captain Flints Hall. The side door to the room will be unlocked if you would prefer to use that entrance.
Our speaker for the meeting this week is Dr. Jermaine Whirl who is the 15th President of Savannah State University. Dr. Whirl will share with us his goals for SSU for the next decade. He aspires to take SSU education to the next level and provide more opportunities for the students of the university.

RCSE August Service Project
Sunday, August 17th
6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
We will be heading back out to Tybee Island on Sunday, August 18th, from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM to help our friends at Fight Dirty Tybee clean up the beach! All equipment will be provided. The meeting point for this service project is 1590 Strand Avenue. Please RSVP to Kerri at rotarysavannaheast@gmail.com if you would like to attend.
It was a magical Friday at The Pirates House this past week! Before we were entertained by "The Magic Curator," President Kim Campbell reminded members of all the upcoming events in the month of August. She also thanked everyone for their support for the Back to School Breakfast at Haven Elementary. Once all Happy dollars were collected and Rotary business items announced, Cheri Dean introduced our speaker, Mr. Robert Moreland.
Robert gave a very entertaining and interactive presentation. Throughout his talk, he preformed magic tricks and asked for volunteers to help! He said that magic isn't real but it is real in the mind and heart of the spectator. He told us about his background and how he became known as "The Magic Curator." He gave us tips such as "dress for the job you want, not the job you have" and made us think about what customers see when they walk into a business. He offered thoughtful insights on how to discover and embrace magic in our everyday lives. All in attendance were enthralled with his magic tricks! If you would like to see Robert perform, he is the resident magician at the JWMarriott at Plant Riverside and is there every Friday from 6:00PM - 9:00PM.
